UJ Ranks among Top Ten Arab Universities in THE Arab University Rankings 2024 |
The University of Jordan (UJ) has risen in the THE Arab Universities Ranking 2024, securing first place locally and ninth in the Arab world, a seven-position improvement compared to last year. The list of the top ten universities includes five universities from Saudi Arabia, two from the UAE, and one each from Jordan, Qatar, and Egypt.
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat expressed pride in this advancement, emphasizing that it reflects the efforts made to enhance the university’s global standing. He described it as the result of the university’s strategy, which focuses on quality and innovation in education, scientific research, and community service.
Obeidat highlighted that the improvement in the university’s rankings aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance curricula quality, develop students' communication skills, and improve their professional and soft skills to better prepare them for the job market. UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, received the award at an outstanding event attended by higher education leaders and representatives from across the region. UJ was nominated for five categories of the prestigious awards; Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year, International Strategy of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Leadership, Outstanding Contribution to Regional Development, and Student Recruitment Campaign of the Year.

King Bestows Silver Jubilee Medal on Professor Ahram |
His Majesty King Abdullah II bestowed the Silver Jubilee Medal to Prof. Mamoun Ahram, a professor of Physiology and Biochemistry at the University of Jordan's (UJ) School of Medicine, in recognition of his distinguished scientific and research contributions in the field of cancer sciences. Speaking during a lecture organized today by the International Program, Marketing, and Alumni Unit as part of the "UJ Talks" series, and attended by the UJ president, vice presidents, deans, and a large audience of professors and students, Hatamleh highlighted the significant leap brought about by the emergence of large language models since 2021. When I moved to the DC area in 1994, I built my career over the years in the IT sector in the United States and became recognized as an instrumental IT leader with known expertise in driving global and national cybersecurity and operational resilience regulatory efforts in the United States. In 2022, I joined Microsoft as the Director of Security Architecture. I lead key aspects of Microsoft security including: Third Party, Artificial Intelligence, and Quantum Security.
