She holds a Master's degree in Economics and has over 25 years of experience in banking, finance, and financial regulation.

Al-Saqqaf began her career in 1993 in the Research and Development Department at the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, where she remained for four years.

She has held several positions at the Central Bank, including Executive Director of the Banking Supervision Department and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, making her the first Arab woman to hold this position.

She served as Director of the Research Department at the Jordan Insurance Commission and also held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer/Regional Manager for Jordan and Palestine at Arab Bank.

She has served on the boards of directors of various financial institutions and companies, in addition to her role as Vice Chair of the Arab Women's Empowerment Board, an affiliate of the Union of Arab Banks.
